Meet Scott of the Lazy C Beef!

The Lazy C Beef which is a product of the Lazy C Ranch is a fourth generation, family-owned ranch! The Ranch is located in Central Utah near Gunnison. Managed and operated by Scott Christensen and his children. The Ranch strives hard to deliver a great product, and in doing so, they try to keep the rangeland and the environment in check by practicing good management skills so that we leave it better for the next generation. Scotts’ grandfather was raised ranching and had the opportunity to purchase a small farm of his own, shortly after he married. Scotts’ father continued to build and expand the ranch over the many years that he operated the ranch.  Scott is committed to making the Ranch a legacy that continues from his grandfather to his children.  Raising beef cattle was the main focus for all those years and continues today.  Beef has always been a staple at the ranch – raising it not only for ourselves, but also for extended family, friends, and neighbors.

Lazy C Beef offer cattle that are grass fed, grass finished beef! They ensure that the cattle are free from growth stimulants, hormones, animal by-products and feed antibiotics. The beef is processed in a USDA-inspected facility and cut and wrapped by small-scale butchers that take pride in their profession. The cattle are primarily Angus and Angus/Hereford cross cattle which are known for their great genetics and characteristics of being excellent beef cattle.

There are many benefits to eating beef that is only 100% grass fed/grass finished as it the highest in nutrients Bata-Carotene, Vitamin E, Essential Omega 3 Fatty Acids as well as fewer calories. The Lazy C Ranch is proud that they can offer families the ability to purchase quality beef that provide these additional health benefits. Grass fed beef is one of the healthiest sources of protein on the planet.  Though these health benefits can be measured by science, they alone do not represent the true product. Grass fed is as much a process as it is a product. It is a sustainable management philosophy that benefits not only the product but also the animal, the producer and the environment.
